Bicycle - An ace to five straight. Also known as a wheel.

A bicycle is a nickname for a five high straight. It is more commonly called a wheel. In High Only games it is a moderately strong hand, that beats three aces and loses to a six high straight or better. In High-Low Split games and Lowball games it is often the nut low and is a very strong hand. In Deuce to Seven Lowball (Kansas City Lowball), aces and straights count as high, so the bicycle is 7-5-4-3-2. In virtually all other circumstances it is 5-4-3-2-A.

“Bicycle” is also the name brand for a famous playing card manufacturer. They make plastic coated paper cards, which are below casino quality, so you most commonly see them at home games, not in casinos. Casinos typically use 100% plastic cards which can withstand more wear and tear and are more difficult to crimp or mark. Bicycle brand cards are often recognizable by their classic “rider back” design which features a cherub atop a bicycle.

Usage: Bicycle for Low, I have a Bicycle, Drawing to the Bicycle
