Poker Stars.com

PokerStars.com is the world's largest online cardroom. Players from all over the globe, including the United States log-in to the site because it is "the" place to play. It is often referred to as the place where players become champions because some of the W.S.O.P. main event World Champions such as Chris Moneymaker and Greg "Fossilman" Raymer regularly play on the site. In fact, both players won their entry into the tournament via small buy-in satellites.

PokerStars opened up in 2001 with the best online casino software on the market. It has remained at the top.

Bonuses

While PokerStars.com leads the pack with it's software, it trails in offering new players bonuses. New players can sometimes take advantage of a small bonus, but it's not a certainty. Registered players receive bonuses approximately four times a year. The good news is that they are easier to clear than those offered by it's competitors.

Games

They offer a wide variety of games including Limit, Pot Limit, and No Limit Texas Hold'em, Limit and Pot Limit Omaha and Omaha Hi-Low, Stud, Stud 8 or Better, Razz, 2-7 Triple Draw, and Five Card Draw. There are even mixed games such as H.O.S.E. and H.O.R.S.E. Limits range from $0.02-$0.04 up to $1,000-$2,000 (in the NL games they have even smaller real money games, $0.01-$0.02). They also have play for fun games (free poker).

Tournaments

The most talked about poker tournament on the web is the Sunday Million. Every week, $1 million is guaranteed and every week, they more than meet their guarantee. That means that first place is over $150,000! The buy-in for the Sunday Million is $200+$15 entry fee, but once a month the buy-in is even higher ($500).

PokerStars.com offers more tournament than any other site. Players with limited bankrolls can take advantage of smaller buy-in tournaments and can even parlay some of them into the larger events. There are numerous freerolls too. All types of games are offered at one time or another during the week with No Limit being the most popular.

Sit n Go's are offered on a sign up basis. Once the table or tables are full, the game starts. Because of the large number of players on the sites, it doesn't take long for the games to begin. Once again, all types of games are offered.

Features

Some of the features the online casino offers is hand histories (either instant or via email), players note taking and transferring of funds to other players. There are two player search options. You can either search for your own friends or favorite opponents or you can do the Team PokerStars search. On the latter, you can find players such as Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Joe Hachem, Humberto Brenes, Isabelle Mercier, and more with just a click of a button.

The lobby and tables are very neutral and easy on the eyes. They offer fancier designs for players who like a more busy look.

Multi-tabling (playing more than one game) is acceptable and to make it even easier for the players, the site offers resizable tables. You can either custom size them yourself or choose from their cascade or tile option found right next to the dealer tray.

Cashier

All transactions are safe and secure. Some acceptable deposit methods include Neteller, epassporte, Central Coin, Paysafe Card, Visa and Mastercard. Not all methods are acceptable in all parts of the country.

Transactions are processed quickly. Deposits are immediate and withdrawals are usually credited within 24 hours.
